BAADS logoThe Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors is a non profit 501(c)(3) organization based at Pier 40, San Francisco.  The philosophy behind BAADS is “co-ability,” pairing people with  “complementary” disabilities, so two people working together can perform as one., for example, pairing a blind sailor with a sighted paraplegic sailor to enter a sailing race.  Ed Gallagher is the current Commodore of this non-profit organization. www.baads.org
Access Dinghies provides special dinghies to BAADS. Access Dinghies has developed a complete package of primary equipment and support equipment for the physically disabled to remove all the barriers to simply going sailing.  www.accessdinghy.org
